Phoebe Freeman is a homeschooled high school sophomore who began her dance instruction at 8 years old with Doxa Arts Academy. She overcame physical disabilities through hard work and support from the studio and instructors, and because of her efforts, she has achieved high commendations passing Cecchetti Ballet Method Grade 3 under national examiners. Phoebe has studied voice, music theory, and art at the academy.
Phoebe’s background is in Lyrical and Modern Dance, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Acro, and Pointe. Her favorite dance style is lyrical and performed the lyrical dance “Banks” in 2022 with her advanced class as well as “What a Wonderful World” in Acro in 2021. Phoebe portrayed the Midnight Fairy in Doxa’s first full-length ballet in 2023, “The Princess and The Golden Bird” and danced as the Palace Pet Keeper leading our toddler dance class in “Esther, Queen of Deliverance” in 2024. She has also appeared in many local performances representing Doxa Arts Academy through dance.
Phoebe’s hobbies include dancing, reading, traveling, shopping, and spending time with family. She regularly volunteers at The Call, and in the preschool ministry at Summit Church in Saline County through worship care and Vacation Bible School programs. Phoebe also sings with her worship team at church on Sundays and Wednesdays.
As an apprentice for the past several years, Phoebe has had the chance to grow her skills in teaching children. Since loving children well is a passion for Phoebe naturally she has desired to teach dance to combine her passion for dance and her heart for children.
The biggest desire Phoebe has is to see Christ glorified in how she serves others – Matthew 5:16. Doxa has played an integral part in Phoebe’s life providing a safe place of encouragement and growth. It will always hold a special place in her heart.
