Lee Ann began dancing at 4 at Western Arkansas Ballet Company in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She studied for 10 years in a pre-professional setting and was a junior company member. Lee Ann was a part of the cast of “The Nutcracker”, an annual non-profit production, as well as” Peter and the Wolf”, “Coppelia”, and other ballets. She was a founding member of a Liturgical Dance Troupe that traveled to share the Gospel through dance.
Upon moving to Little Rock, Arkansas, Lee Ann danced at Ballet Arkansas and eventually found her home studio at McAfee Ballet. She danced many lead roles in the original classical story ballets such as” Cinderella”, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves”, “The Emperor and the Nightingale”, and others. During this time she was also on staff at River City Gymnastics as a preschool program coach.
At 18, Lee Ann began instructing, and at 19 she opened a dance program at Chenal Valley Montessori School. It was at this time she joined the staff at Little Rock School of Dance while maintaining her teaching schedule at McAfee Ballet. Lee Ann was a founding instructor at Dancers’ Corner in 2010 and she took on roles such as Lead Instructor, Administrative Assistant, and Choreographer. She has taught toddlers to adults in styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, modern, contemporary, and liturgical.
In 2014, Lee Ann moved to Northwest Florida and transitioned to owner/director of a faith-based dance and gymnastics program, Expressions of Praise. Lee Ann studied theater dance at the University of Arkansas and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree. She is certified with the Southern Association of Dance Masters in ballet.
Lee Ann is also certified in Acrobatic Arts preschool acro dance program, Progressing Ballet Technique, as well as in Once Upon A Ballet preschool and early childhood development. Lee Ann is on the staff of Once Upon A Ballet as a content creator for the toddler to elementary dance curriculum. She is a Grade 1 certified Cecchetti method ballet instructor.
She joined the staff of Doxa Arts Academy in the fall of 2021. Her passion is ballet, specifically preschool and pointe, but loves all movement styles. She is excited to be a part of the Doxa Arts Academy team and teach students her love of dance. She has been married to her husband, Nick, for 18 years and homeschools her four amazing kids, Luke, Joelle, Isabel, and Peter, whom you will see often around the studio. They attend Fellowship Bible Church in Benton.
