Jana Haggard has always loved music and began singing in church at 5 years old. She started joining choir programs at the age of 12. By 13, Jana was participating in audition choirs where she performed in school, at college, and at the state level. She began taking piano lessons at 14 which led to Jana pursuing a major in music at college and graduating with a BA in music with a focus on vocal music from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
She had the opportunity to be part of a Gospel Choir, Chamber Singers, and Opera at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Jana participated in opera theater where one of her most noteworthy performances received an honorable mention in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette for her portrayal of the queen in “Sleeping Beauty”. Jana also won free studio recording time in The Great Arkansas Talent Search and now has a song on iTunes called, “Consume Me”.
Since college, she has enjoyed working with church music programs in Colorado Springs and Little Rock, as well as teaching private lessons and music classes. Jana has been teaching since the early 2000s and loves teaching at Doxa and sharing her love of music in a faith-based, family-oriented environment.
