With a lifelong passion for music and more than 27 years of flute experience, Courtney is excited to share her love of music with students at Doxa Arts Academy.
She began playing the flute at age 12 and has participated in concert band, marching band, musical ensembles, and solo performances throughout her musical journey. Over the years, music has remained an important part of her life, inspiring her to help others discover their own musical abilities. She has experience teaching private flute lessons from her home, particularly to fellow homeschool students, and has continued serving the homeschooling community by teaching a variety of courses through Benton Homeschool Co-op and assisting with Homeschool Band.
Outside of music, Courtney has spent many years serving nonprofit organizations and working as a veterinary assistant. She and her husband, Robert, have shared 21 years together and are raising their two children, Ian, 13, and Alex, 10, whom she has homeschooled throughout their lives. Her experiences as both an educator and a homeschool mom have given her a personal appreciation for the unique needs and learning journeys of students. Her family are also members of Centerpoint Church in Benton, where faith and community are important parts of their lives.
As a private flute instructor at Doxa Arts Academy, she looks forward to encouraging students as they develop their musical skills, grow in confidence, and experience the joy of making music. Sharing her passion for the flute and helping the next generation of musicians grow is a meaningful extension of the love for music she has carried since childhood.
