Asher Barson is a Virtuoso level piano student at Doxa and one of our newest Piano Instructors. He is 16 and has been playing piano for most of his life. He was selected to participate in the BYU Summer festival in Utah this June. Asher got to experience a taste of the college experience and stayed on campus attending music classes and master classes including music literature, piano technique class, composer studies, composition, and music theory and analysis. During his time there he chose one musical selection to focus on for final performance at the end of the clinic. Some of his favorite experiences included learning about the lives and works of music composers, learning about many different styles of music they composed, and studying chord analysis and improvisation. Asher is excited to be teaching and sharing his love of piano with others.
